The fire-proof principle of fire-proof coatings can be roughly summarized as the following five points: nano-ceramic fiberboard

(1) Fire-retardant coatings themselves are non-flammable or non-flammable, which prevents the protected substrates from directly contacting with air, delays the ignition of objects and reduces the burning speed.

(2) Fire retardant coatings have low thermal conductivity besides flame retardancy or non-flammability, which can delay the transfer of flame temperature to protected substrates.

(3) Fire retardant coatings are decomposed into non-flammable inert gases by heating, diluting the flammable gases decomposed from the protected objects by heating, making them not easy to burn or slow down the burning speed.

(4) Nitrogen-containing fire-retardant coatings decompose into NO, NH3 and other groups by heating, and combine with organic free radicals, interrupt chain reaction and reduce temperature.

The expansion type fire retardant coating is heated and expanded to form a carbon foam insulation layer to seal the protected object, which delays the transmission of heat and the substrate, and prevents the fire from burning or the strength drop caused by the temperature rise.
